Red Kidney Bean Hummus

Lately, I have been trying to " Get more" out of the food I choose to eat.  This means, I have been adding veggies to every meal, and making my snacks count!!

I LOVE Hummus! and I have made a large quantity of homemade hummus over the years.  The other day, my husband brought home Some Kidney beans from the store.....so I decided to make Kidney bean Hummus!!

Kidney beans are a VERY beneficial food choice.  They are high in fiber and vitamins, and low in calories.

Here are the ingredients you need in order to make kidney bean hummus.

Sea Salt,  kidney beans,  olive oil. garlic,  and lemon juice.

Since I used canned beans, it is very important to drain them.  Canned beans can have lots of sodium you want to wash away.

I put the beans in the food processor. I added 2 cloves of minced garlic, a pinch of sea salt.

My husband Greg was nice enough to add some olive oil for me. I just add enough until the mixture is smooth.

He also added lemon juice. I usually like 2-3 tablespoons. More than what most recipes call for.

I let the Hummus mix for about 3-4 minutes.

I didn't have any crackers, chips or raw veggies.....I made some toast sticks to dip in the Hummus with whole wheat bread.

This was better than regular hummus. I recommend you try it!!

Easter Chocolate spoons

I thought that my family would LOVE these chocolate Easter spoons. Especially since we drink lots of coffee!

I came up with these Easter themed chocolate spoons. that are cute!

Melt some white chocolate over a double boiler.

once melted. Dip the spoons.

decorate the spoons to make them look like " Easter"

I used shaved almonds and sprinkles to make an " Easter Bunny"

I put some food coloring in the leftover chocolate, so I could make carrots. ( for the stem of the carrot, I used leftover Christmas tree sprinkles)

Wa la!! Easter Chocolate spoons!!!

St Patricks Day Pizza

On Valentines Day I made this Valentines Day Pizza.   and  brainstromed up a good idea for a St. Patricks Day Pizza as well!

Here is How:

Start with A bag of spinach and kitchen sheers.

Pick out a few spinach leaves.

Cut the Spinach leaves into shamrocks!

Place them on the pizza.

Bake the pizza in the oven.  The spinach will decrease in size a little bit.
I also added some parsley, to get some more " green" on the pizza

Kiss me Im Irish!

Here is a simple and cute idea to celebrate St. Patricks Day. This can be used as a decoration,  gift it to someone for St Patricks day.

Here is How:

1) Cut out some paper to" Hershey Kiss" size. Write " Kiss me I'm Irish on it"

Glue the paper on to the Giant Hershey Kiss! ( purchased this the day after Valentines Day)
I used my hot glue gun.

I put a foam shamrock sticker on for decoration.

A VERY easy way to make this into a St. Patricks decoration!
